Since, this kind of issues occurs due to various bugs that are still need to be fixed, one of the major reasons for causing an error- computer not showing up on the network is the malfunctioning of “Function Discovery Resource Publication”. If you do not know what it is then here’s what it means.

Basically, it is a service that lets your computer show the network computers that are attached to it. However, if this service is turned off on your PC then you’ll not be able to see your network PC on your respective PC. Hence, here’s what you need to do in order to enable it.

  • Open the Run command on your PC by pressing the “Windows + R” keys. Alternatively, you can also right-click on the Start button and then select Run from the list.
  • Next, you’ll need to type “services.msc” in the test-filed and press the enter key
  • Now the Services window will pop up in which you’ll have to select the Function Discovery Resource Publication option
  • Open its properties by double-clicking on it and scroll to the Startup type section
  • Here, select Automatic from the drop-down menu and then click on the okay option to exit the window.

Additionally, if the aforementioned steps do not help then you’ll need to reset the network settings. Here’s how.

  • Navigate to the PC’s settings section and select Network And Internet
  • Scroll to the Status section and then move to the bottom of the page
  • Click on the  Network Reset button in order to reset the network settings

Now, simply reboot your computer and see if it works. Also update the Network Adapter, here’s how to do this,

  • Open the Run command window
  • Enter Device Manager and then press the enter key
  • Scroll to the Network Adapters option and right-click on it
  • Select Update Driver and let the update process go
